Mission Goal: To ensure that all staff members of the Gaming Gods Community are properly trained, up-to-date with the latest knowledge, and treated with the utmost respect.

Staff Members should always strive to have fun with guests and members within our community to the highest extent, as-long as said fun is not breaking any community/server rules, abusing administrative privileges, and/or using privileges where other members may see you as abusing your powers. It should be your goal not to only be an active staff member, but also as an active player, engaging in all forms of community activities.

Hello Prospective Staff Members,

Thank You for taking the time to read this thread, which will allow you to be able to submit an application that will be strong and effective, while also allowing us to be able to get to know a little bit about you. Consider this thread a “cheat-guide” on how to submit an application that will surely impress us, and increase your chances of acceptance.

First things first, let’s make sure that you do the following throughout the application process:

  • Always use correct grammar and spelling.
    • The first thing that throws us off and immediately gives us a bad impression is when you use improper grammar and spelling. This creates a bad impression because you have the ability to quickly look up a quick fix on making sure that your application has all of the right spelling and grammar before you even click the submit button!
    • It’s always good to submit each of your answers to (or better yet, add it as a browser extension!).
  • Be truthful with us.
    • Always tell the truth. If you were banned or have warns on the server, let us know, because we will find out.
    • Always list out previous and current servers that you’ve administered on, even if you no longer have those positions.
      • Trust us, experience helps you out tremendously!
    • Don’t have experience? No problem, but you need to let us know so that we know what training programs to put you through.
  • Be realistic in your answers.
    • When we ask how you would handle a situational question, we expect you to respond with a serious and respectable answer.
    • Refrain from using profanity or other obscene information in your answers.
  • Follow the requirements list below.
    • Seriously, we cannot stress this enough.
    • Nine times out of ten, players submit an application and haven’t even posted three, non-spam/hello posts (more on this below).
    • If you’re in doubt, you can click on your profile and see how many “Messages” you have.
    • Note that when you are finished submitting your application, you should have a total of no less than four “messages” listed on your profile.
  • Be detailed.
    • Short answers is a quick way to not getting the position from us. We want you to treat each question as if it’s as serious as the next. Not only does this help out your application tremendously, but it also shows that you’re willing to go above and beyond to show your worth in this community.

Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s list out the requirements for being a staff member with us:

  • Join our Steam Group.
  • Join our Discord server.
  • Visit the Gaming Gods ranking structure, so that you understand how the structure works.
  • Post three, non-spam/hello posts, in the forums. Can either be a reply to a thread, or preferrably a new thread. Shoutbox Comments and Profile Posts do not count.
    • What we mean by non-spam/hello posts: Your posts should all include more than 25 words per post, whether they be replies or threads.
    • Don’t post hello threads around the forums, unless you create one introduction that is detailed.
    • Generally, if you're able to post an application, you've already reached the minimum requirement of posts.
  • Have at-least five hours on the server prior to submitting an application.
  • Be able to participate in the community as an administrator for at-least five hours per week.
  • Be at-least sixteen years of age.
  • Cancel any open applications on other communities.

Finally, let’s talk about that application. After you’re done filling out the preliminary information, you’ll move onto the situational questions. These are, by far, the make it or break it questions that will either get you the position or immediately drop you out of the application pool.

Here are a few important tips to keep in mind:

  • Racial slurs and excessive profanity is not allowed, however we do not normally give harsh punishments to users who use them jokingly.
    • Note that if these slurs are being used excessively against a player in a derogatory way, punishment is given to the player.
    • Want to stand out? Make two separate situations with your answer. For example, situation one is the player using it as a joke, where-as situation two is the player using it in a serious tone.
  • Players using exploits? Oh no!
    • Seriously, this one is probably one of the funniest answers that we can get.
    • If a player is using exploits to get out of the map, move ‘em down and give them a little slap to punish them. If it becomes a serious problem, move onto more...less desirable actions (such as a warn or a kick).
  • If a player is threatening to DDoS or Crash the server, permanently ban them immediately.
    • There’s no need to let us or anyone else on the server know about the player unless something does happen. But before the player can do anything, get them off the server.
    • A little known fact: Players are more likely to DDoS the server when they’re on the server. This allows them to get a live reaction on what’s going on, and to be able to experience the chaos first-hand.
      • Yes, people still DDoS while not on the server, but they consider it much more enjoyable while on the server. Get them off the server.
  • People trying to DDoS, crash the server, and/or Mass RDM are considered red players.
    • These players need to be dealt with in a top priority. Stop what you’re doing and deal with them first.
      • Punishments for these players are immediate permanent bans.
If you're in the middle of an Admin Sit, leave the sit and take care of red players first.
